Udzungwa Mountains National Park offers a completely different experience from the traditional savannah safari. Part of the Eastern Arc Mountains, Udzungwa is a remarkable biodiversity hotspot with pristine forests, mountain trails, waterfalls and wildlife found nowhere else in the world. The park is especially attractive to hikers and nature lovers. Its network of trails leads through lush forest to spectacular viewpoints and waterfalls, including the famous Sanje Waterfall. Udzungwa is also home to unique wildlife, including the endemic Sanje mangabey and Iringa red colobus, as well as an impressive variety of forest birds, plants, amphibians and reptiles.
